Here’s a homemade Nutella recipe that takes only 30 minutes to make, and uses only four ingredients! Plus, it’s vegan and gluten free! 🤩
3 cups raw or roasted unsalted hazelnuts
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp sea salt
2/3 cup dairy-free dark chocolate, chopped
- Preheat your oven to 180ºC. Place the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and spread them out to an even layer. For raw nuts, roast for 12-15 minutes. For already roasted nuts, roast for 8-10 minutes to heat the oils in the nuts and loosen their skins.
- Remove the nuts from the oven and let cool slightly. Remove the skins by rolling the nuts in a towel – the less skins, the creamier the Nutella!
- Put the nuts in a food processor or blender and blend on low until a butter forms. This will take around 10 minutes. While this happens, melt the chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time.
- Add the vanilla extract and the salt to the butter once smooth, then blend again. Start adding the melted chocolate a little bit at a time until homogenous. Taste for seasoning, adding more vanilla extract or more salt, or even some maple syrup for extra sweetness.
Keep at room temperature for 2-3 weeks ✨
